Number 1 Top Wildlife encounter of the year - Sea birds

My best wildlife encounter in 2013 has to be kayaking and filming Sea birds on and off the water as there environment is always changing and there ability to bring up a family in these harsh stormy conditions shows how hardy these birds are and for me they have become a part of my year especially the summer months. Kittiwakes, Guillemots, Razorbills, Cormorants and Shags all living together in a big colony is an amazing spectacle to watch from land or sea. The greatest views of the colony are seen when on the sea because to have them flying over you as they drop from the cliffs and then diving underneath your kayak is truly an epic wildlife encounter. In 2014 If the weather is on my side I hope to get closer and observe more of these fantastic birds on land and from the sea and maybe get some better photograph which would be a bonus.
A few of the hundreds of photographs I took of these feathered warriors of the Sea
Plus a Kestrel that nested alongside the Sea bird colonys
Some of my best moments don't have the best photographs or video footage but these moments mean more to me than any of my best photographs which is why I still love to be outdoors in any weather rain or shine.
Thank you for visiting, reading and commenting on my blog over the past year even though I have been lite on blogging some months.
So it's onward and upward into 2014 and hopefully more wild encounters for the upcoming year.

Thank you again

 Mike
