Today I went for a walk by the canal from Davenam bridge near Northwich to Middlewich and saw 2 kingfishers 1 adult and 1 juvenile probably the adult was trying to lose its young on the canal bends. I also ran into a young pheasant on the canal tow path which when it saw me ran off to try and find cover but I do not think it could fly yet but this is very unlucky for him/her as this time of year is when the hunting season begins on middlewich farmland so I don't think this one will last very long due to being unable to escape as easily without it being able to fly from the farmers shotgun range.
